This may be the easiest and tastiest cake ever! If you’re into Poppy Seeds of course.
100g unsweetened breadcrumbs
100g poppy seeds
385g sweetened condensed milk
some almond shavings
Soak poppy seeds in boiling water for 2 hours. After that blend them using a blender and get rid of the excess water.
Beat eggs with sugar until the mass is white. I didn’t measure how much sugar I added (I rarely measure anything hihi). But it was way less than 200 grams. You can adjust it according to your taste.
Put the blended seeds and breadcrumbs in the egg mixture and mix it together. Bake it for 40 mins in oven preheated to 180C.
After cake is out of the oven take let it cool for a bit, flip it over and stab it with fork many times. It’s not because you’re angry Christmas is not in another two weeks, it’s because you’re gonna pour the condensed milk over the cake. As you poor the milk, make some more holes so it soaks in. Again, I didn’t use the whole can of condensed milk. I used only half and I think that was enough. But that depends on how sweet you like it.
Now just put some almonds on top and make your coffee.
It’s the perfect cake for a Christmas table if you ask me.
I found the recipe on YouTube and here’s the video for some visual directions.
